About Energy Artwork

Energy Artwork is an imposing stainless steel sculpture that refers to the site’s origins as a power station.  Coloured light of changing hue appears to emerge from below ground, energising the tower before spilling upwards into the sky from the wave-like cut outs.

"As a sculptor my compulsion is to create landscapes and environment that evoke a balance of spirit and matter.

Sculpture and place are the same, and by the way we place an object we can express this simjple desire to produce an awareness of ones surroundings.

The essence of sculpture is the perception of space and as our understanding of space changes so must our sculpture change." Mark Merer
