Using bronze pictograms set in reclaimed granite blocks (the old quay side from the site), the aim is to create an exciting and contemplative sculptural landscape to generate their own independent aesthetic and interactive discourse, as well as suggesting aspects of local history for research elsewhere.
Morse code, again referencing the link to Portishead’s broadcasting past will be incorporated in the scheme, allowing for some interactive translation between the granite blocks.
One aim is to create a contemporary version of an archaeological site; the embedded 'fossils' are bronze images all relating to the site specifically. In finding fragments and traces belonging to the regenerated site, it is hoped a pride, and sense of the site's special interest will be celebrated, and not forgotten.

I work with video, text, digital imagery and live presentation to explore the various states of mind through which we experience and understand the world around us. From the distraction of the motorway driver - 'Beautiful Place', to the concentrated descriptions of city streets - 'Inter.'
Often I work collaboratively, with a composer to produce extended 'concert' events, or with other artists on community or cultural exchange projects. Currently I am working with an architect on a film about the recently destroyed areas of Bucharest, and preparing a paper on visual/literary description for publication and for presentation at conferences
